Funerals are a part of Christian life. They are a part of grieving and saying goodbye to our loved ones. However, the emphasis of a Christian Burial isn't on death but on Eternal life that God promises to us. And so we hope and trust in eternal life with God.
We also know that death can bring pain, sadness and many different emotions.
We want you to know that we are here to support you, holding both faith and grief in balance.
What happens at the funeral? What do we need to prepare?
Funeral services are held in the sanctuary (in the church building) and sometimes, under special circumstances, at the funeral home.
Readings and hymns are chosen that are suitable to the Funeral Liturgy in consultation with the clergy a day or two before the Funeral.
The worship service we use is the Office of Burial and it is an ancient service of the Church.
It is the service we use for everyone.
The church and funeral home needs information for the bulletin like: Pall Bearers, Readers, Soloist(s) and Musician(s)
